What is Leaky Gut Syndrome?

If you have been told that you have Leaky Gut Syndrome, you may have been left wondering how to find out more information about this issue.  At first, this diagnosis can cause rather shocking.  Sufferers will wonder if their gut is indeed leaking and, if so, how this would impact their overall health.

If you have Leaky Gut Syndrome, the truth is that your gut is indeed more permeable than it should be.  This permeability means that different substances including toxins and undigested food can leak through & go directly into your bloodstream.  Different health practitioners have speculated that Leaky Gut Syndrome results from a variety of factors including everything from parasites to infections.  Often doctors directly connect Leaky Gut Syndrome to a person’s diet.  This is why gluten & lactose free diets are often suggested to those who suffer from this condition. The truth is that none of these inflammatory bowel symptoms are about food- you can’t eat your way into or out of IBD. There is no diverticulitis diet- colitis diet -crohn’s disease diet ect.

Many gastroenterologists debate the causes and cures for Leaky Gut Syndrome.  However, there are some facts that are indisputable.  When a person has this condition it means that the lining of the intestines has developed holes.  It is also true that these holes allow different toxins to transport themselves to the rest of the body.  The fat and muscle in the intestines are left exposed to powerful digestive acids that create these holes. When this undigested food shows up in the blood stream the immune system treats it like it is an enemy & produces an immune response to attack it. This causes conventional medical Doctors to assume the Leaky Gut is an auto-immune disease- false- it is just the immune system reacting to the initial problem- not causing it.

It is important to note that it is specific medications that are at the root cause of these issues with the mucosal lining -not poor diet- stress- germs- genetics- parasites ect-ect-ect.

If you have Leaky Gut Syndrome, the bottom line is that this condition must be treated very seriously.  Crohn’s Disease could be the end result of Leaky Gut Syndrome if the symptoms go unchecked.  In fact, many people who initially started out with Leaky Gut Syndrome eventually need to have their colons removed!

While this potential diagnosis  sounds very shocking, the good news is that you can change your fate and stop Leaky Gut Syndrome before it has more serious consequences.  It is possible to heal these conditions with out drugs or surgery.
