Well, I put this post in another place and then realized maybe I should put it here. Sorry–I'm new to posting!

I know this question is upper GI and not lower GI, but I figure it's all
related–and I have seen that Dr. Snow has mentioned heartburn in his
blog. I have had heartburn for eleven years, mostly when I drink coffee
or other caffeinated beverages, even a small amount. It's been hard for
me to quit coffee, but I've quit for a month at a time. It doesn't seem
to cure the problem. Dr. Snow recommends a liquid probiotic for
heartburn. What is a good brand and how much should be taken? Does
colostrum need to be taken with the probiotic? Any other supplements?
Any help would be appreciated!

Upper and Lower GI problems are always related but esophagus issues do
have unique aspects to treatment. Heartburn is not so much about too
much acid and what you eat.   It is more about too little- of the
protective coating- mucosal lining and the skin/tissue being eaten away
leaving nerve tissue exposed=pain.  Sometimes this can be an easy fix,
sometimes more difficult, it depends how long you received malpractice,
nexium ect.

Get a liquid probiotic at any health food store, any
brand will do. Take 1 tbsp 3 times daily- between meals- no drink/food
for 90 mins after. Also get Gastro-Select-take 1-2 caps after each
meal.  You can get this
by calling Moss Nutrition- 800-851-5444.
Tell them I recommended it. The Gastro-Select will help reduce the
amount of acid while the probiotic will coat and protect the tissue.
You should start feeling better in several days- but can take 2-3 months
to fix- depending on how much damage you have. If you don't feel better
after 2 weeks then double the amount of the probiotic. If still not
better after 2 more weeks- let me know & we will take it to the next
level. Once it is fixed- you are done.
