**I can permanently heal your Inflammatory Bowel Condition**

Diet

The “Best” Diet for Irritable Bowel Syndrome

The "Best" Diet for Irritable Bowel SyndromeIs there a “best” diet for Irritable Bowel Syndrome? IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is a highly chronic condition which involves problems with your gastrointestinal tract. A number of symptoms are commonplace to the condition,  such as indigestion, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, bloating, and gas.

Most information about IBS will tell you that a proper diet for Irritable Bowel Syndrome is key for curing any of the syndromes involving inflammation of the intestines.  However, you do not need to be on some extreme diet like the Specific Carbohydrate Diet or any other type of diet for the rest of your life.  IBS, IBD, colitis, Crohn’s, etc. is not about food at all.  It’s about the use of antibiotics that have damaged the lining of your intestines over the years.  Your diet and the food you eat have little to do with the causes and cures of these syndromes.

Just to be clear: there is NO diet for Irritable Bowel Syndrome that will heal or cure any form of IBS, nor is there one that will cause it.  IBS can be cured by rebuilding the GI tract’s mucosal tissue. However, in the meantime, you can manage the symptoms of your condition by not eating foods that will aggravate it.

As you think about your diet and what you eat, keep in mind these two rules for diet for Irritable Bowel Syndrome:

1. General diet: The rule is simple here — eat low fiber foods that won’t aggravate the already inflamed intestinal tissue.  Makes sense, right?  Why would you want to choose a high fiber diet that would further inflame your intestines?  That means no raw fruit; no raw vegetables; no nuts, seeds, or corn until you get your IBS fixed.

If you persist in eating these high fiber foods, you will exacerbate your condition, which will manifest itself with symptoms like diarrhea, abdominal pain, mucus and bloody stools, all of which make your condition worse.

You will want to change to a low fiber diet as an initial step in curing your IBS, even before taking any supplements.  By doing so, you can more accurately evaluate your treatment needs.

2. Use common sense:  If any other food bothers you when you eat it, just stop eating it for the time being. Once you have decided to move forward with healing your IBS,  you can return to eating whatever you want after that point. When you have IBS, colitis or Crohn’s Disease, the best way to know if there is a problem with a particular food is if you become bloated and get diarrhea when you eat that food.  If this happens, simply stop eating that food.

You cannot heal any Inflammatory Bowel Disease with any kind of diet — you can only slow down the destruction of your GI tract. Irritable Bowel Syndrome doesn’t have to be a lifelong condition that reduces your ability to work, attend social events and travel.  Proper diagnosis and treatment is essential.

Do yourself a favor – forget everything else you have read about diet for Irritable Bowel Syndrome and just follow these two simple rules to help you manage your IBS and then seek out a permanent cure.

Probiotics and Colostrum

Many people take probiotics without realizing that it is essential to also take colostrum along with it.  Probiotics and colostrum truly go hand it hand.  This article will explain why it is so essential to take the two together.  If you are looking to relieve issues like colitis or chronic diarrhea, don’t skimp on taking the two together. The key to taking these is in knowing which ones to take for the individual & their unique needs. Taking the wrong ones can at best do nothing & at worst- make you sick. Just one example is if the person taking either one of these is lactose intolerant. Also there is often times the need to take different ones at different stages of the treatment. It can get complicated.

So what is colostrum?  This is a substance that comes directly from a mother’s breast when she is nursing her child.  This milk is also a rich source of probiotics.  The combination of the colostrum and probiotics together build a strong immune system in the baby.

The fact is that probiotics are useless without colostrum.  They will just go “in one door and out the other.”  Why spend your money on probiotics if they will just be immediately leaving your system?  The reason why colostrum is so essential is that it allows the probiotics to stick to the inner surface of the GI tissue.  This process enables the probiotics to remain permanently in your gut, instead of quickly just leaving your body.

Of course, if you take antibiotics at any point during your life, this will kill off the friendly bacteria regardless of whether you have taken it with colostrum or not.  In this case, you will need to repeat the cycle over again from the start and begin a new course of probiotics with colostrum. Different antibiotics require different probiotics to replace the specific strains that were killed off.

When you were first breastfed, this developed the mucosal lining in your body.  This lining is so powerful that it can last a person’s whole life if he or she doesn’t take antibiotics.  Of course, if you were never breastfed, you will need to take colostrum and probiotics to get this necessary ingredient into your system.  When people are fed soy formulas, they are put at a major disadvantage as far as their health is concerned.

The fact is that colostrum helps to repair a wide variety of gastrointestinal issues.   Oftentimes people take probiotics for issues like chronic diarrhea treatment or colitis cures and then are disappointed that this supplementation doesn’t work.  When that is the case, the sufferer needs to remember how essential it is to take the correct colostrum-with the correct probiotic.

Everything you know about food allergies is wrong!

Many of you have been told that you have food allergies–but none of you have been told exactly what that means. That is because the person telling you this doesn’t know. Hardly anyone does. So you end up spending the rest of your life avoiding certain foods without knowing why and without knowing that it can be fixed. This is called the BLAME GAME–when we blame certain foods for our health problems. It is never the food’s fault. It is the fault of your digestive system. It is not efficiently digesting the food. This is exactly the problem with any other kind of allergy–your immune system is not digesting the allergen/germ. This explains common allergies to things like pollen and dust and even things that are considered “poisonous”.
You see, the immune system and the digestive system are one and the same.Their job is to digest substances that enter the body- such as food- dust- pollen or germs.
When this digest/immune system is working at it’s best- we should not be allergic to anything. This appears to be a simple process, but in reality it is quite complex with much more going on than you would ever imagine. This post is a very much simplified version of the truth about food and and allergies. THE CONTENTS WITHIN THIS POST REPRESENT THE BASICS OF HOLISTIC GASTRO-ENTEROLOGY & WHEN UNDERSTOOD IS YOUR KEY TO ELIMINATING YOU INFLAMMATORY BOWEL DISEASE. A FULL UNDERSTANDING OF THIS CONCEPT WILL PLACE YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF IBS- COLITIS-UC.- DIVERTICULITIS- LEAKY GUT SYNDROME & CROHN’S DISEASE ABOVE MOST GASTRO-ENTEROLOGISTS & NATUROPATHIC DOCTORS & YOUR ABILITY TO HEAL YOURSELF! READ CAREFULLY- IT’S ALL HERE.
The body’s digestive and immune systems rely on very sophisticated “software” to identify the molecular structure of whatever enters the body and how to deal with it. Actually the immune system digests germs in the exact same manner that our stomach digests food. This software is the mucosal lining that covers all of our mucous membranes–which includes your sinus–lungs–gastrointestinal and urinary tract. They all function in the exact same way–processing/digesting-pollen-air- food- water- germs and toxins ect. Any malfunction of this digestion process in any of these locations–such as the lungs inability to digest/process air which is called asthma, is given a name and is called an allergy or a dis–ease. The mucosal lining is made of probiotic bacteria along with a hormonal substance called colostrum. These highly intelligent good bacterial strains– whether living in the stomach or any of the other of the mucous membranes, identify whatever enters into the body- then trigger a signal that is sent by tiny glands called the parietal cells to release specific enzymes/histamines to digest/process it. Histamines are exactly the same as digestive enzymes only located in your sinus/lungs- to digest that specific germ/allergen and oxygen- breathing is digesting air. In essence the immune system functions exactly the same as the digestive system–it digests the germs as if they were food.

Now what happens if we don’t have this bacterial “software”- the mucosal lining? The use of an antibiotic –which is essentially a “hostile” bacteria removes this “software” by eating the good bacterial strains that the lining is made of. If you then neglect to “reinstall” the “software”–good bacteria- by taking the correct probiotic, the mucus membranes will not be able to do their jobs.
So now, you decide to do something innocent like having an ice cream cone or a sandwich made with whole wheat (gluten) bread. Since there is no one home to identify who just came through the front door, there is no way for you to efficiently process/digest this stuff. Then, with undigested food being pushed through the system- the immune system gets involved as it can’t identify these unprocessed molecules and it releases some really harsh acids/histamines/Natural Killer Cells to try to “digest” it- often times causing some type of “allergic reaction”. This is the genesis of your classic “allergy”. Btw- this is ONE of the scenarios that brings about the B/S diagnosis- calling a GI problem an “auto-immune- disease”. Don’t get me started on that!
Whatever the body’s reaction is-it is not a reaction to a “villainous” food–but is due to the fact that your body has been “dumbed down” by the prior use of antibiotics. It is also possible to boost your body’s IQ by taking special strains of probiotics that are smarter than & resistant to any antibiotics. You DO have the potential to never get sick again!

I think you get the point it’s not the food’s fault. Now you know that you don’t have to live with “food allergies”. All you need to do is to reinstall the “software” by using the correct probiotic.
Food “allergies” are not hard to fix and are not a problem in their own right–they are just a side effect of a pre-existing condition.
So don’t believe anyone who tells you that you have a food allergy–DON’T PLAY THE BLAME GAME- It’s not the food–it’s you!

Food has nothing to do with your Inflammatory Bowel “Disease”

Let’s get clear on this. Food has nothing to do with your IBS ect. You can’t eat your way into or out of any Inflammatory Bowel Condition. Eating lots of junk food doesn’t cause it & eating organic food can’t fix it.
Several questions that I often hear are – “I had food poisoning last year- could that have caused my IBS?” No -you had a pre-existing condition that was on the cusp of manifesting & this just exacerbated it. Or-”My Doctor told me to stay away from dairy & gluten – could eliminating them make my colitis go away?” No. The same goes for any other food that you ate before things went south on you.
The only legitimate food connection re-your with symptoms- is with high fiber foods. If you have a chronic GI condition & you eat some roughage- that is going to aggravate the already inflamed tissue-causing most typically diarrhea. It is not the food’s fault- we need to stop playing the “blame game.” It always has to do with a pre-existing condition which the “accused food” is only irritating.
There is only one “food rule” for people suffering with & being treated for any Inflammatory Bowel Condition- eat a low fiber diet- temporarily – until you are healed. Then you will be able to eat whatever you want -including fiber foods -w/o any deleterious effects. We also want to use the common sense of reducing the consumption of any other food that seems to be bothering you at this time- most commonly dairy or wheat.
In my next post I will address the issue of supposed -”food allergies” – explaining what they really are and why dairy & wheat products are the most common “trouble” foods. Lastly I will explain how easy these “food allergies-intolerances” are to reverse. In this next post I will also explain what an “allergy” of any kind is. Why are some foods “poisonous?” This will tell you a lot about your relationship with food and why your body treats food & germs as the same thing & how your immune response & your digestion are the same thing! —-huh?
FOR NOW- KEEP IT SIMPLE-DON’T BLAME THE FOOD!
